An inspiring series of short dynamic talks direct from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Each week for the next 6 weeks we will be bringing you a new peek into the world of tomorrow, and how the brains of the Start-Up Nation will be taking us there.
We will be travelling through the future as seen by the best minds in business, urban planning, medicine, nanoscience and agriculture.
In our inaugural week, we present Prof. Oded Shoseyov, nanobiotechnologist from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem’s Institute of Plant Sciences and Genetics in Agriculture, as he amazes us with the simply titled “Nature’s Gift”. Shoseyov takes us on a billion year journey showing us examples of amazing materials found throughout the insect and plant world that create super-performing materials and products that enrich our lives such as sports shoes to medical implants.
Prof. Oded Shoseyov is an expert in nanobiotechnology; he has authored or co-authored more than 160 scientific publications and is the inventor or co-inventor of 45 patents. Shoseyov received the Kaye Innovation Award from the Hebrew University in 2010, and an honourable mention from the Israeli Prime Minister for his contributions in entrepreneurship and innovation in 2012. He has founded 10 companies including CollPlant, several of which are focused on engineering new materials for use in human tissue repair, jet fuel and food packaging.
