Our April meeting will be addressed by Rachael Kohn, whose topic will be “A look over the most unusual career in religiou journalism”.
Dr Rachael Kohn is best known for her program The Spirit of Things on ABC Radio National, which she created in 1997, and has produced and presented for 21 years.
She’s been with the ABC for 26 years, producing and presenting documentaries on religion for radio and television, and other regular series for Radio National, including Religion Report, Religion Today and The Ark. She produced and presented a 2-part 2 hour TV documentary on the Dead Sea Scrolls featuring international scholars on the important Jewish archaeological discovery. She’s produced many programs on Israel’s archaeological history.
Rachael was an academic in Canada, Britain, and Australia before joining the ABC, and taught Jewish history and religious studies at the University of Sydney for five years. In 2005, the University of NSW conferred a Doctor of Letters honoris causa for promoting religious understanding. She’s authored two books and has written for many publications.
