Hebrew University’s Prof. Yaakov Nahmias shares how he came to use fibroblasts instead of stem cells to cultivate quality, non-GMO meat. Cultured meat has the potential to ease the environmental effects of meat production, by drastically reducing carbon emissions and land and water consumption for cattle farming. It’ll also significantly impact animal welfare, making it possible to manufacture meat without having to slaughter animals.
