The Golimdja William Cooper Memorial Scholarship

The Australian Friends of the Hebrew University is delighted that Ilana and Martin Moshal have generously agreed to fund The Golimdja William Cooper Memorial Scholarship (GWCMS).

This will cover the cost of a suitably qualified Indigenous Australian (covers airfares, program costs, accommodation, a living stipend, medical insurance etc.) for post graduate study at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem (HUJI) in ONE of the programs mentioned below:

  • The Glocal International Development Studies Program - An 18 month MSc program including a 4 month onsite internship at a community organisation abroad
  • International MSc Programs in Agricultural Sciences - A 1 year MSc & thesis program with 2 streams available in 2024: Plant sciences & Environmental quality sciences
  • The International Master of Public Health Program - A 1 year MSc program
  • The International MSc Program in Biomedical Sciences in the Faculty of Dental Medicine - A 2-year MSc in biomedical sciences

Application Checklist

  1. Ensure that you have read and understood each section of the application form.
  2. Ensure that the information you have provided in this form is complete and accurate.
  3. Ensure that your application includes the relevant Course Acceptance Letter from HUJI for the program you have applied for.
  4. Include the following with your GWCMS application:
  5. Evidence that you are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person. This may include:
    1. Written confirmation by a recognised representative of your local Indigenous community of your Indigenous status (usually through your local land council, but other evidence will be considered).
    2. signed statutory declaration
  6. Copies of academic results and/or transcripts for the past two years – do NOT send original certificates and/or academic results or transcripts with this form.
