Professor Ghil’ad Zuckermann is the founder of Revivalistics, a new global, trans- disciplinary field about language reclamation, revitalization, and reinvigoration. Think Yiddish, Ladino, Shanghainese, Aboriginal languages, Te Reo Maori – Prof. Zuckermann shows why language reclamation and revival is right, beautiful and beneficial and shares his research into the links between language revival and mental health. Ghil’ad was “inspired by Israel’s linguistic revival, which is Zionism’s greatest achievement and is the best example of bringing a ‘dead’ language back to life.”
