The Promise I Made: A Story of Purpose through Resilience

After surviving a devastating motorbike accident, eight major operations, a life-threatening golden staph infection, and the world’s first live knee transplant, Richie Harkham was forced to rebuild his life from the ground up. In this inspiring talk, Richie will share how adversity became the catalyst for resilience, renewed purpose, and giving back. His extraordinary journey is a powerful reminder that life’s greatest setbacks can become our greatest opportunities.

Richie Harkham is an entrepreneur, winemaker, and philanthropist. He is the founder of Harkham Wines in the Hunter Valley, with wines served in some of the world’s best restaurants. He is also the founder of the Hark Angel Foundation, which has built 12 schools across 6 countries supporting over 2,000 children daily. After a serious accident left him fighting to walk again, Richie developed a concept he calls Return on Resilience – a framework for turning adversity into opportunity. He speaks on rebuilding, identity, and what it really takes to give back when you’ve been given everything.
